The Polish authorities can apply Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty in connection with the fall of the missiles on Polish territory. Polish military expert Pawel Fleischer said this in his commentary to „Belsat.
Pawel Fleischer advised to wait for official statements of the Polish government regarding the Przewodowa incident. Nevertheless, the military expert expressed the opinion that the Polish authorities will decide to apply Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which provides for consultations with NATO allies on taking specific steps.
He also believes that the Russian ambassador will be summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry on November 16.
Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty referred to is as follows:
„The contracting parties will always consult each other if, in the opinion of any of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any of the contracting parties is threatened.”
